Starfish violin pickup bridge

The Starfish Designs transducer bridges offer a strong output signal, with a warm open tone. Current models are faced with wood on both sides, instead of carbon fiber.

Based on Alun Jones’s original Ashworth bridge design, these multi-transducer bridges from Starfish Designs have a strong output signal, with a warmer, slightly darker tone, with a little less punch and presence than Barbera bridges. The Starfish bridges are an excellent choice for solid-body instruments. If you’re building your own electric, or you’ve got one with a damaged or defective pickup, these bridges make excellent choice. They will work with acoustic instruments, as well, but the thickness of the bridge results in a sound that’s less open and acoustic than a Schatten or L.R. Baggs bridges that are built with traditional bridge blanks.
